Is Joan Wheeler rotting or ripening?

by on March 14, 2012

 Ripening with Age…

Looking for just a definition, to use, I came across the following:

Key traits seem to improve as we grow older. By Rosemarie Ward, published on August 01, 2003. The first sentence sums up what I would like to point out…

With age, one generally becomes more responsible, organized and focused, according to Sanjay Srivastava, Ph.D., a Stanford University researcher and author of the study, which appears in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

So on the public forum for Adult Adoptees Advocating for Change I find Joan Wheeler, as 1adoptee, telling the world how she shall ALWAYS be the same…like I said…is she ripening or is she rotting?

A newbie asks a question and Joan quotes another and then give us her wisdom…

I’m new. I’m just wondering if there’s any adoptees out there in their adult years who are still struggling with issues? (I’m in my forties). I don’t know what else to write.

Quote    My issues have subscriptions. LOL

Mine, too!
Long standing issues that ripen with age! :toast:
Welcome here! you’ll find each one of us has a different spin on these issues. :blahblah: :aj:

 Gert here:

Here are two definitions

ripen- cause to ripen or develop fully; “The sun ripens the fruit”; “Age matures a good wine”

ripen- grow ripe; “The plums ripen in July”

And then there is over ripe, as in rotten and spoiled.

Too ripe; past its best.

What possible ‘spin’ could there be on ‘issues’? This is not TV land, where spin-offs multiply and degerate…or is it? Pity parties and rehasing things, issues, are NOT the way to become a fully developed person. Recognizing one’s ‘issue’ and learning how to either make it work for you or eliminate it if it isn’t working for you, is what makes a person a fully developed person, not the spins.

Rotting or Ripening…which is it Joan? Are you ripening in your old age or are you just rotting more? You sure do smell like ROT!
